2026 ·¬ºÅ¿âapp elections: voting now open
Members are urged to make their voices heard and cast their ballots in this year's elections, with the ·¬ºÅ¿âapp Presidency among the roles to be decided.
Voting is now open, with a wide range of candidates standing across key roles, from President to Subject Community positions, members are encouraged to have their say before the deadline closes. See the full list of candidates standing for all roles below.
After voting closes at 5pm UK time on 21 May, the ballots will be counted and the successful candidates will then be announced in June and at our Annual General Meeting on 8 July.
Members have the opportunity to choose the future ·¬ºÅ¿âapp President as five candidates vie to fill one of the most important positions in the chemical sciences. The successful applicant will follow serve in the post from mid-2028 until 2030. Dr Annette Doherty is the current ·¬ºÅ¿âapp President and will be succeeded by Professor Robert Mokaya, who starts his two-year term this summer.
Also on the ballot are a further 62 chemical scientists who are keen to push the chemical sciences forward by taking leadership roles on our various boards and with Subject Communities.

Our Members should already have received voting details electronically but if you have not received an email from [email protected], please check your spam mailbox before contacting Mi-Voice. Only members who paid their 2026 membership subscription by 1 April will be eligible to vote in the elections. Similarly, members wishing to vote in Subject Community elections must have been subscribed to the respective group on 1 April.
To determine the shortlists for each position, our Nominations Committee met to evaluate nominations against the role descriptors for ·¬ºÅ¿âapp President, elected member of the Member Communities Board and elected member of the Professional Standards Board as well as Community Presidents and Subject Community Presidents.
