·¬ºÅ¿âapp Chiltern and Middlesex Section Annual Lecture 2026

Introduction
This year’s C&M Local Section annual lecture will be given by Professor Fiona Ducotterd. Fiona is a neuroscientist, with global drug discovery and development experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. She is currently Chief Scientific Officer of the Alzheimer's Research UK UCL Drug Discovery Institute (UDDI). Fiona has worked in major pharmaceutical companies in UK, China, Japan and the USA on new treatments for neurological diseases and across different therapeutic modalities.
 
Fiona and her team at UCL work to translate novel and tractable academic discoveries into drug discovery programmes to accelerate the transition of biological discoveries into possible new treatments. She will discuss the emerging understanding of neurodegenerative disease mechanisms and development of biomarkers accelerating the translational research path to making transformative medicines. Fiona’s talk will focus on the progress made in CNS drug discovery and what the future holds for next generation treatments for patients with neurodegenerative disorders.
 
The lecture will be followed by a buffet and also an opportunity to celebrate the long service of our members who have reached significant milestones in membership and contribution to the ·¬ºÅ¿âapp.
