Leadership for scientists, by scientists

13 July 2026 09:30-17:00, London, United Kingdom

Introduction
Synopsis

This event will be a forum for providing scientists with leadership skills for application in a scientific context, via workshop and teaching elements. Bringing together a small group from a diverse array of scientific positions, this event will provide:

• Insight and discussion on the challenges of leadership within a real-world scientific environment. This will be complementary to the many valuable pre-existing courses on leadership skills development

• Development of skills required to be an authentic leader within this environment, by leveraging the diverse perspectives and experiences from members of our scientific community

• Practical leadership tools and approaches for the scientific community that you can begin to implement straight away.

• An interactive, dynamic and evolutionary format tailored to the scientific environment

Attendees

Anyone with an interest in leadership within a scientific environment is welcome, regardless of their stage of career. The course caters for both academic and industry participants from a range of scientific backgrounds.

It will be of particular interest to PhD students (about to start supervising other students), professionals with several years' experience managing people and/or projects and early career scientists interested in career development relating to leadership.
